T. Scott McGee, M.D.

T. Scott McGee, M.D. is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who received his bachelor's degree in Biology, with distinction, from Virginia Military Institute and went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Virginia Medical School.  His Orthopedic Surgery Residency was completed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center and Texas Tech University.  Dr. McGee was appointed Assistant Clinical Professor at the Medical College of Virginia, 1995-1998.  Dr. McGee's Army career was distinguished by service as a combat orthopedic surgeon in Bosnia and he parachuted into Panama during operation "Just Cause."  A former Airborne, scuba-qualified Army Ranger, Dr. McGee's military honors include a Purple Heart, Combat Medical Badge, Joint Meritorious Unit Citation, Expeditionary Medal with bronze arrowhead, Combat, Jordanian, and Australian parachute wings.  He left the service as a Lieutenant Colonel.   He enjoys spending time with his family, weight lifting, biking, car racing, skiing and shooting sports.

Dr. McGee practices general orthopedics with special interests in sports medicine, total joint replacements  and workers compensation.  He is a fellow of the Society of  Independent  Medical Examiners.  He performs independent medical exams, chart reviews, second opinions and disability evaluations. 

He attended an AO-ASIF fellowship in Salzberg, Austria under Professor Herbert Resch, M.D. with special interest in shoulder surgery.  Dr. McGee serves as team physician for Lee County High School, Darton College, Southland Academy and the Arena II Football Team, the South Georgia Wildcats.   He maintains currency in sports medicine procedures of the knee, shoulder and elbow.

He also maintains currency in mini-incision arthroplasty, resurfacing arthroplasty, computer-assisted joint replacement and unicondylar knee arthroplasty.  He is currently an Assistant Clinical Associate Professor, Mercer University School of Medicine.

"Although I have a particular interest in sports medicine, joint replacement and workers-compensation, I enjoy the general practice of Orthopedic Medicine both surgical and non-surgical.  I feel that the gifts I have in terms of mechanical, and academic aptitude allow me to glorify the Creator by serving Him through serving others."
